Dear 614 supporter,

We are continually seeking out an opportunity which will allow us to justify the substantial investment it will take to put the 614 back into service.
As previously discussed on this web site, to complete a full FRA compliance inspection and retrofit, it will cost somewhere between $500,000 and $700,000 depending on what's found when the disassembly process is completed.

We are gratefull to our freind Andy Mueller for allowing us to store the 614 on his railroad in a safe environment and at a reasonable rent.

In the interim, we'd like to keep this web site alive but need some financial assistance to do so.

If you're in a position to make a donation, we'd really appreciate your help and you can be assured that all funds generated will go towards maintaining this site. If there are any excess funds, they will be devoted towards the continued annual maintenance of the locomotive. As you know, we have an annual spring work party where we do all possible to protect the engines vital parts from the elements and to keep her in as good a shape as possible for that happy day when we'll be able to return her to service.
